Life lessons

Have a look at these great life lessions, which I found on a very inspiring blog:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
17. You can get through anything if you stay put in today.
18. A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
38. Read the Psalms. They cover every human emotion.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
42. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
43. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
44. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
45. The best is yet to come.
46. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
47. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
48. If you don't ask, you don't get.
49. Yield.
50. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

And now the best:
Life may not be the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!

So let´s dance!

Staff Integration System from Persolog

I am just coming back from an update day for persolog-liscencees on their staff integration system.
This is a great system for better recruitment and much more.
I am using this tool since 3 years and it is really great.
The system analyses the match between the companies benchmark and the applicants (self) evaluation of the following dimensions:
-position
-position holder
-manager
-company culture
The result gives you a very good indication on the potential results the applicant will deliver, his retention potential and his flexibility. In addition it gives you some good indications on most probable issues in the management of the new employee.

We were very lucky, that Renate Wittmann, the head of product development was our trainer today. We had a lot of intense discussions on the background and more possible applications of the model. She is really great. Thank you Renate or braining us!

The system offers a very good online platform and they have improved it significantly over the past year.

You can find more infos at:
http://www.persolog.de/web/de/verlag-fuer-lerninstrumente/recruitment/mitarbeiter-integrations-system/index.htm

New layout

Dear family and friends. As you can see, I have changed the layout of my blog.
The content is unchanged. This is really cool about blogging, that the content and the design is seperated, giving you a lot of flexibility.

A great webpage for blogger layouts is:
http://www.deluxetemplates.net/2009/05/2plus-templates-for-blogger.html

This is the source of my new template, too.

How do you like my new template?

As I began to love myself - Charlie Chaplin

Today, I found a very touching piece from Charlie Chaplin, who was far more than just funny, which I want to share with you:

As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is "AUTHENTICITY".

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody as I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me.
Today I call it "RESPECT".

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it "Maturity".

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm.
Today I call it "SELF-CONFIDENCE".

As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm.
Today I call it "SIMPLICITY".

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health - food, people, things, situations, and everything the drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism.
Today I know it is "LOVE OF ONESELF".

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time.
Today I discovered that is "MODESTY".

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING is happening.
Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it. "FULFILLMENT".

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally.
Today I call this connection "WISDOM OF THE HEART".

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born.
Today I know THAT IS "LIFE"!

Charlie Chaplin

So when do YOU start to love yourself?

New Asia Bar in Singapore

This year we celebrated the year end in Singapore. One of the best places to overlook the georgeous skyline of Singapore is the New Asia Bar. It is in the 71st floor of the Swissotel Stamford.

Happy new year!

Dear family and friends,

I am back from a great vacation in Asia and I wish you a happy new year and all the best for 2010!

Unfortunately, our stop over in Dubai was too short this time, to join the grand opening of the Burj Khalifa, but I know what my first stop will be when I will be in Dubai for the next time:
