Controlling Wiki from ICV

I just found a great controlling-wiki, hosted by the ICV (Internationaler Controller Verein).

You can find the English version at:
http://www.controlling-wiki.com/en/index.php/Special:AllPages

The German version is available at:

HPZ Internet TV

As you might recall, I am a fan of Hans Peter Zimmermann and his HPZ power podcast.

You can find more infos on his homepage at www.hpz.com

Now I discovered, that he set up a collection of high quality videos at:
http://hans-peter-zimmermann.tv/Hans-Peter_Zimmermann_TV/Home.html

Check it out and enjoy his free of charge premium content.

TED for iPhone (and even iPad)

I always loved the high quality content of TED. You can find excellent speeches on:
www.ted.com

(see my previous post: http://tj-on-tour.blogspot.com/2009/11/riveting-talks-by-remarkable-people.html)

Now I found out that they also have an iPhone App, which also works perfectly on my iPad. When you scale up the iPhone App on the iPad, you have the great TED videos on the full iPad screen. But even on my iPhone, I just love to be brained by TED.

So check it out at the Apple App-Store and keep on braining yourself and others!

Ich wollte nie erwachsen sein - Peter Maffay live

... and another way to express the message of my previous post:

Think like our kids!

Think out of the box!

Have a look at this great video on creative problem solving:

So stop to restrict yourself and start to be creative!

Peter Senge on the creative process

A very smart video from Peter Senge, the author of the 5th discipline (read it, if you have not done yet!), found on a blog for smarties:

Impossible is nothing

... sometimes bad things can turn out good - so be flexible - think about it!

2 great Dan Gilbert speeches on how we create happiness

Watch these 2 great Dan Gilbert speeches on how we create happiness:

Some really nice insights - also for neuro-marketing.

Free course to develop iPhone and iPad applications

For all of you who want to learn how to develop software for the iPhone and the iPad, have a look at:

http://www.stanford.edu/class/cs193p/cgi-bin/drupal/

This is a great course from Stanford University. I had the pleasure to meet one of the lecturers life today.

Best example for how to fuck up with closed questions - Willy Brandt at his best :-)

Have a look at this great interview with Willy Brandt. I nearly crashed my car when I heard it in the radio for the first time, as I was laughing like hell :-D

So keep on asking SMART questions :-)

Speedthinking

A great link for all smarties :-)
www.thespeedthinkingzone.com

Some of their ideas, which I fully advocate:
-Limit the time you take for thinking about options
-be open minded and ignore all reasons not to start
-generate 9 options in 2 minutes
-use visualisation
-action

Another proof of the fact that speed has nothing to do with less quality, but often the other way round.

iMemento flashcards for iPhone

And the next way to brain yourself:
http://imemento.bplaced.net/index.htm

This is a great flash card system for the iPhone or the iPod touch (the model I use).
You can create your own flashcards or download flashcards. You can find tons of flashcards on the iMemento webpage. You can enter data on the iPhone or on the PC/Mac. It works with a clever Browser-Interface.

So keep on training your brain - every day!

Braining for school kids - www.toobrain.com

Have a look at this great page:
http://www.toobrain.com/index.htm

This is a portal for training videos to help school kids to understand the school stuff better.
You cannot start braining early enough - Great example of how the internet can help to learn.

Byron Katie

Have a look at this great lady:
http://www.thework.com/index.asp

She is really brilliant in what she is doing as a Coach.

Leonard Cohen - There's No Reason Why You Should Remember Me (live 1968)

A great song - not only for closing a coach training :-)

Life lessons

Have a look at these great life lessions, which I found on a very inspiring blog:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
17. You can get through anything if you stay put in today.
18. A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
38. Read the Psalms. They cover every human emotion.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
42. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
43. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
44. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
45. The best is yet to come.
46. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
47. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
48. If you don't ask, you don't get.
49. Yield.
50. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

And now the best:
Life may not be the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!

So let´s dance!

Semester at sea

Staff Integration System from Persolog

I am just coming back from an update day for persolog-liscencees on their staff integration system.
This is a great system for better recruitment and much more.
I am using this tool since 3 years and it is really great.
The system analyses the match between the companies benchmark and the applicants (self) evaluation of the following dimensions:
-position
-position holder
-manager
-company culture
The result gives you a very good indication on the potential results the applicant will deliver, his retention potential and his flexibility. In addition it gives you some good indications on most probable issues in the management of the new employee.

We were very lucky, that Renate Wittmann, the head of product development was our trainer today. We had a lot of intense discussions on the background and more possible applications of the model. She is really great. Thank you Renate or braining us!

The system offers a very good online platform and they have improved it significantly over the past year.

You can find more infos at:
