You can find it at: www.swimmersguide.com

One of many great infos out of the new book from Timothy Ferriss: The 4-hour body.

Happy new year from Rio and Berlin

Happy new year to you and your family!

From Brazil (where we spent our christmas vacation):

And from Germany (where we live):

Have a wonderful 2011 :-)

Golf rules and Happy Gilmore :-)

For all of my German golf friends, who are also not always too sure about the rules of the game:
http://www.golf.de/dgv/rules4you/start.cfm

But don´t take our sport too seriously. If you are doing so, have a look at this guy - Happy Gilmore:

So keep on swinging!

Surf World Cup Sylt

The Surf World cup in Sylt is back again. You can find more details, videos and livestreams on
http://www.windsurfworldcup.de

Nicole and I will be there tomorrow. for all of you who don´t have a chance to be at this top-event, here are some impressions from one of the last ones:

Sylt an island for smarties - Gosch List

Gosch in List was always one of my favourite places in Sylt, but have a look what I discovered at my last visit on the first floor:
So Sylt is not only a place of romantic beaches, but also a place for smarties and I love this combination :-)
You can find more details of this spot at:
http://www.gosch.de/standorte/gosch-auf-sylt/alte-bootshalle/

Wangerooge office

This is my office this week - our second home on the island of Wangerooge in the North Sea. No cars, just a wonderful beach - like the Sansibar beach, which is my favourite place on Sylt. A wonderful place to free your mind, to run with bare feet, to swim in the sea and finally to think, learn and work.

Great ambush marketing from Germanwings vs easyjet :-)

Have a look at this cool campain (in German):

Thank you Nici for this great link!

London Eye

When you visit London, don´t miss the London Eye. You have a spectacular view over London.
You can find all the infos at: http://www.londoneye.com/
.... and don´t miss the 4D-show, which is included in the ticket, even looking as studid as us below :-)
... and take the left line - we were in the eye within 5 minutes - with a regular ticket but a VIP smile :-)

Love never dies in London

For all musical lovers of you and for all of you who also love romantic weekend hideaways, this is what Nici and me did last weekend:

Love never dies is the continuation of the Phantom of the Opera and we liked it even more than the first part. It is playing in the Adelphi Theatre in London. You find all the infos at:
http://www.loveneverdies.com/

When you are a bit more flexible on what to see, there are many booths in the city, selling cheap tickets for all the musicals which are currently on stage, like Grease, Elliot, Sister Act and many more.
And by the way - you do not need to wear a tie. I was slightly overdressed, but luckily not the only one and better than the other way round :-)

We had a great hotel with a wonderful mix of old and new elements.
It is just 200m away from the theatre and directly at the tube station Charing Cross (near Trafalgar Square). The hotel is also a great starting place for exploring the city. It is the Guoman Hotel. You find it at:
http://www.guoman.com/hotels/united_kingdom/london/charing_cross/index.html

The London Eye is just 300m to walk and directly accross the street there is a Starbucks - for all chai lovers, like me :-)

Starbucks Cards Can Now be Managed via Facebook

For all Starbucksies like me - found on Mashable at:
http://ht.ly/1FGyG
Thanks to Wolfgang Niederhausen´s facebook post.

Starbucks Cards Can Now be Managed via Facebook

As an early adopter brand, Starbucks has reaped the rewards of social media innovation. Today the company is furthering those efforts with a Facebook application for customers to access and manage their Starbucks cards.
The application will go live around 1:50 p.m. PDT today and will be accessible via Starbucks’ Facebook Page.  Essentially the application provides a virtual way to complete any card-related activity and even view a record of all transactions.
On the card management front, users can register (or unregister cards), check their balance, reload cards and edit profile information. The app also includes relevant rewards program information so frequent customers can check their status levels and benefits.
What’s even cooler is that come summer time, Starbucks will introduce functionality that will let users reload a Facebook friend’s Starbucks card as a gift through the application. Talk about an instant way to make a Facebook friend’s day.
Of course, most of the application’s functionality mirrors what you can already do via the Starbucks website and its iPhone app, but the Facebook app is all about convenience.
Product Manager Brad Nelson explained, “Our Facebook community is very vibrant with over seven million fans. We see this a great way to make it even easier to manage your Starbucks Card on Facebook. We can’t wait to make it easy to buy your friends a drink.”
Convenient it is. Given FacebookFacebookFacebook’s size and significance, we expect the application to be a huge hit for both customers and company.
Very Smart as so often. One of the reasons why I am a real Starbucks fan. My favourite is the Chai Tea Latte with soy milk - no I have to admit, I am addicted to it :-)

The smart thing about the Starbucks card is that you can use it to use the WIFI in the stores.
I always use this, when I am travelling to the US. See me older blog entry at:

Indoor Skydiving in Bottrop

This was one of the presents for Nina´s confirmation. A great present from smart parents, as all of us three were in the air :-)

This is really one of the coolest events I have ever done.
You should see this on our faces :-)

So for all adrenalin junkies: Let´s fly.

Dünentherme and Gosch in Sankt Peter Ording

When you plan a visit to the North Sea, you have to make a stop in Sankt Peter Ording. You find a long sandy beach there and Gosch opened a subsidiary 2 years ago. We always used to prefer the surf spot in SPO, but with Gosch, the decision becomes more difficult.

You find the calender of events at:
http://www.gosch.de/wp-content/uploads/vaspo2010_low11.pdf

A great way to chill out is the Dünentherme. They have several Saunas and one of them with direct view to the sea.

Every last friday of the month they even have a Sauna night until 1am.  You can find more infos at:
http://www.st.peter-ording-nordsee.de/duenentherme-saunalandschaft.html

This was the way we spent Nicole´s birthday today.

Paul Watzlawick on how real is reality

A wonderful short video with a great philosophist:

Thank you Petra for this great link - read more from her on:
http://www.mindtraining.at/blog/blog.html

If you have not already read his "Anleitung zum Unglücklichsein", READ IT!
For those of you who deal with the US, you have to read his "Gebrauchsanweisung für Amerika".
A wonderful book about the US culture with a lot of great episodes.

Individual travelling with Djoser and World Insight

On our last vacation, we met an interesting couple who told us about very individual tours with Djoser and World Insight.

Have a look at:

And now have a loock what we saw in the Singapore subway on our vacation:
